More than 70 performers are set to star in Blackpool’s huge festival of circus, magic and new variety.
Showzam! fever is building in Blackpool ahead of the resort’s annual festival, which returns from February 14 to 23 next year.
Around 30,000 guides are now being distributed to give everyone a sneak peek of what is going on during the 10-day extravaganza.
Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Marketing Blackpool, said: “We are delighted once again to be announcing so many acts for Showzam!
“This is a fantastic 10-day festival providing entertainment for young and old, families and couples.
“Showzam! is a very important part of the Marketing Blackpool calendar and one that we look forward to every year.
“It is a pleasure to be part of the planning of Showzam! and to see the enjoyment it brings to so many people.”
The dazzling acts will include No Fit State Circus who will perform regular shows in Showzam! Central in the Winter Gardens Olympia, which is also the hub of the festival with plenty of sideshows.
Children’s favourite Sooty is expected to be hugely popular when he hosts two shows at the Opera House while Meet the Hogwallop Family - featuring the Lost in Translation Circus - is also one for the family at the Grand Theatre.
Over at The Blackpool Tower Circus, B is making its premier for Showzam! with an original theatrical circus show that blends bubbles with dance, juggling, acrobatics, sand-magic and special effects.
The festival’s Carnival Ball returns to the Tower Ballroom on Saturday, February 15 when 1950s Rock ‘n’ Roll will be the theme for the evening.
At Blackpool Pleasure Beach activities and attractions range from a face-painting festival and Skate It sessions with Blackpool’s very own Dancing on Ice star Katie Stainsby, to acting, magic and creative workshops.
Antony Johns, creative director for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said: “Showzam! is going to be fantastic for February half-term fun. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has some amazing workshops to take part in and a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes at the attraction and our Stageworks division.”
