Blackpool has launched its latest Destination Guide - packed with information about the resort’s top tourism attractions – with a little help from the stars of the world’s most successful musical.

The Dynamos from Mamma Mia!, which is heading to the resort for a 10-week run next summer, have thrown their support behind the guide. Around 80,000 copies will be distributed nationally over the next two weeks.

It is also available to view online at www.visitblackpool.com/blackpoolnow.

It aims to provide tips on how to enjoy the town’s numerous attractions and details of the Blackpool Resort Pass. It also features an events listing for 2014 with more than a hundred events planned so far – many of them free of charge – and information about all the top indoor and outdoor events as well as the town’s parks.

Around 13 million people visit Blackpool every year and the Dynamos are backing the resort to welcome even more tourists in 2014. Sue Devaney plays Rosie in the musical and is well known to audiences from her stints in the BBC’s Dinnerladies and Coronation Street.

“I love Blackpool,” she said. “We are all really looking forward to spending time there next year.

“For me Blackpool is full of childhood memories and with all the regeneration work that’s happened on the Prom and around the town it really is a great place to visit.”

Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Marketing Blackpool, said: “Blackpool looks fantastic and Blackpool Now is the perfect Destination Guide to showcase the resort to our many visitors.”
