Casting has been announced for Copacabana at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre this autumn.
The musical, written by hitmaker Barry Manilow, will run in the resort from November 10 to 15, starring ex-S Club 7 star Jon Lee.
Lee has made a name for himself in musical theatre since S Club broke up, with lead roles in West End smash shows Les Miserables and Jersey Boys.
He will be in Blackpool later this month, when he heads up a performance from Jersey Boys on Saturday, August 30, as part of the Switch-On Festival weekend.
Also appearing in Copacabana will be ex-Neighbours star Richard Grieve and newcomer to the UK, Canadian-born Jennifer Harding as Lola.
The opening lyrics to Manilow’s hit song Copacabana: ‘Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl’ set the scene for the musical tale of romance and stardom that has captivated audiences across the globe.
It features original songs by Manilow, dazzling costumes and fabulous choreography, all against a Latin American backdrop.
Songs include Dancin’ Fool, Who Needs To Dream, Welcome To Havana and the Grammy Award-winning title track Copacabana.
Tickets cost from £18 for matinees, with concessions available.
