Former chart band The Christians (pictured right) are to make their Lytham debut with an appearance at the Lowther Pavilion on March 16.

In their heyday – their last char hit was in 1993 – the band scored hits with songs such as Forgotten Town, Ideal World, Born Again, Harvest for the World, What’s In Word and Hooverville.

Celebrating 25 years since their eponymous debut album – The Christians – and first singles hits in 1987, the band has recently re-formed and is still fronted by the distinctively soulful vocals of founder member Garry Christian.

This year also sees the re-release of the band’s multi platinum selling albums The Christians and Colours as well as an album of brand new material.

The March concert is being promoted by Lytham Proms organisers Cuffe & Taylor.

“We want to bring as many credible artists as possible to perform at the Lowther Pavilion and we hope to have more announcements in the very near future,” a spokesman from the company said.

“The Lowther is such a versatile indoor venue that where possible we want to show our support by organising more of this type of event.”

Tickets for The Christians are on sale now priced at £9 each from the Lowther Pavilion box office and also from Ticketline (booking fee applicable) 0844 8889991 or online at www.ticketline.co.uk
