STEPPING into one Fylde pub over the next few days will be like taking a trip Stateside.

The Ship at Elswick has a variety of American dishes and special offers from January 7-11.

Steaks and other US dishes are inviting diners to ‘Love me tender’ as the pub celebrates the birthday of ‘The King’, Elvis Presley, in unique style.

Throughout the five-day promotion, diners who download a voucher from www.theshipatelswick.co.uk or take this article with them when ordering at the bar, will be able to buy one dish and get another half-price, with the cheaper of the two being the reduced price meal.

This offer will apply to three sizzling starters: Chilli Chicken Livers, Bury Black Pudding and Sticky BBQ ribs and to five tasty main dishes. The mains to tickle the tastebuds are a very USA-focused New York Chicken, Sirloin Steak and the Chef’s Steak Choice of the Day, the ever-popular Beef & Guinness Pie, as well as a Chef’s Posh Pie of the day.

The offer will also apply to some prime, classic American burgers – The Ship’s very special Gourmet Burger and a Goosnargh Chicken Caesar Burger, which combines local produce with one of the USA’s great taste sensations.

Even more good news is the fact that the ‘Juicy Lucy’ Burgers offered at The Ship are included in the offer.

This fabulous dish is very USA, comprising a gourmet burger with various cheeses sandwiched in the meat to create a runny and yummy burger treat.

The cheeses on offer during the promotion will be Cheddar, Stilton and Monterey Jack.

Coming so soon after all the traditional British foods of Christmas, this should be a welcome promotion for those longing for some foreign influences in their food, as well as being a pick-me-up in the dark January days.

Add to that the fact that money can be saved on dining out and there’s every reason to celebrate Elvis’s birthday at The Ship.

General manager, Caroline Colbourne, says: “Our ‘Love me Tender’ promotion will allow diners to enjoy some tender steaks, prepared for us by quality butchers and delivering excellent taste and texture.

“Our burgers and other meaty choices are also much praised, so we hope we will persuade diners to tuck in and enjoy.”

Tables at The Ship only need to be booked for tables of five or more and reservations can be made on 01995 672777.
