Friends of Lowther Pavilion are hosting a fund-raising show – staring local legends Cannon and Ball – on Sunday night.
The comic duo are taking a break from their national tour for the special date in aid of the Lytham theatre’s friends group.
They’ll make the dash back home, clocking up several hundred miles on the motor, between dates in Tunbridge Wells and Stevenage on their tour Ha Ha Hood And The Prince Of Leaves.
But the show was a promise made earlier this year, when they officially opened the Lowther’s new bar.
Bobby, who lives in St Annes, and Tommy appeared there in the premier of Tommy’s play Rock Off Tommy!, staged by the Fylde Coast Players, and were impressed at the group’s dedication.
“The fact they are making such a long journey to fulfil this date show just how special this gesture is,” said Friends’ vice-chairman Rosie Withers, who directed Rock Off Tommy!
“Bobby and Tommy are very busy, not just with the tour but with filming and other commitments. We are so grateful to them for coming to Lowther and we are all very much looking forward to Sunday’s show.”
Billed as ‘An Audience With Cannon and Ball’, fans can expect a stand-up session in the first half, with questions submitted then answered after the interval.
Bobby said: “Lowther Pavilion is a wonderful theatre and I am happy to do anything I can to help.
“I was very proud for Rock Off Tommy! to be staged at my local theatre and every success to the Friends with their hard work to make this lovely venue even better.”
Sunday’s show starts at 7.30pm. Call the box office on (01253) 794221 for tickets.
