PHIL Cool, who am I contractually-obliged to described as rubber-faced, is on in Lytham tonight.
After 40 years in the entertainment business, Phil has decided to tour for one final time. Beginning at the end of January 2013 and culminating in June, Phil Cool’s Final Curtain Tour will be his last ever national tour.
The tour will take in the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and includes many of the venues he toured at the beginning of his career.
As well as his facial contortions, Cool has a wealth of anecdotes, observations and routines that make him one of the most reliable stand-ups on the comedy circuit.
He peaked in the 1980s when he was a regular on our TV screens.
He made three series for the BBC and had five top-selling videos.
Retirement from touring doesn’t mean the end of his career however – he is putting the finishing touches to his autobiography and has just finished recording a series of children’s stories as audio books.
There are still tickets available for Phil’s show. Go to www.lowtherpavilion.co.uk or buy at the box office on 01253 794221.
