BLACKPOOL’S new Revolution Vodka bar, designed to hold more than 1,000 revellers, is based in the former Brannigans on Market Street, and will be officially unveiled on Friday with a spectacular launch party weekend – and a Thursday sneak preview, courtesy of local DJ Jason Fubar.
In addition to creating 80 new local jobs, the chain, which traditionally specialises in vodka, will start a revolution on their opening night in Blackpool, with part of the venue dedicated to the official launch of its first rum bar concept in the North West – Revolucion de Cuba.
Serving more than 50 rums from across the globe, the new concept builds on the growing popularity of the Cuban spirit and classic cocktails, such as the hugely popular Mojito and classic Rum Punch.
Mixologists will be showcasing their skills at the launch party by serving a host of exciting Cuban-inspired tipples to appeal to all tastes.
In true Revolution style, the opening weekend launch party will be complete with free food, rum chasers and cocktails, with music from two live bands and special guest DJs, topped off with entertainment from flame throwers and Cuban dancers.
Ross Robinson, general manager at Revolution in Blackpool, said: “Not only are we creating 80 jobs in the area, we are also bringing one of the biggest Revolution bars in the UK to Blackpool.
“We wanted to open a new and exciting venue that can be enjoyed with friends or colleagues, day or night, and reflects a vibrant seaside resort such as Blackpool.”
Tickets for the VIP launch weekend (Friday, July 29 to Saturday, July 30), further information and opportunities to book private parties are now available at www.revolution-bars.co.uk/blackpool or by phoning (01253) 807172. You can also follow the bar on Facebook at Revolution Blackpool.
Revolution was founded in 1996 in Manchester, and now has 65 venues across the country.
The unique bar group offers 30 different flavour vodka infusions, all created in Revolution’s own Vodka Factory in Manchester.
And playing a leading part in its launch will be Blackpool DJ Jason Fubar.
“When I heard that Revolution was to open in Blackpool, I knew this would be the perfect venue for me to come back to the town full-time after a spell promoting at Coco and Che, and playing in London every Saturday.
“I’ve been a fan of Revolution bars since visiting them at various towns and cities across the UK.”
He will be promoting his Love Revolution session every Thursday as well as being the resident DJ every Saturday.
“Revolution – with the word Love in the name already but backwards – gave me inspiration to host a very sexy, glam and unique session which I launch on Thursday July 28 before the venue’s main VIP Launch Party on Friday July 29.
“It’s a fresh new night for Blackpool comprising the finest funky uplifting house music fused with today’s Ibiza anthems, and the finest urban/R’n’B anthems finely crafted by myself, plus I’ve managed to prise away from the Syndicate Lee “Jester” Watson to do the early session from 9pm to midnight, with the Fubar factor from midnight until close.”
Also featured on the night will be the House Dolls, who feature every Friday at Ministry Of Sound in London, as well as Birmingham, Sankeys in Manchester and regular hosting in Ibiza’s Superclubs. The night will also feature live saxophone and percussion with regular guest musicians from London to Ibiza.
