Thirtysix years after becoming an overnight sensation on ITV’s Opportunity Knocks – considered the Britain’s Got Talent of its day – poet and raconteur Pam Ayres is still going strong.

Her comic poems, delivered in a distinctive style and in a broad Oxfordshire accent, marked her out as a talented performer and her appearance tomorrow at the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham will feature a familiar mix of poems and stories from across the years.

Pam, who was awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours of 2004, has sold more than three million books worldwide so there should be plenty of material to choose from.

Tomorrow’s show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £17.50 each.
