Layton Institute is celebrating its centenary year with a new look summer season show.
Now That’s Variety will run every Tuesday to Saturday from July 28 through to the end of October with a different show each evening.
There will also be a children’s show every Saturday afternoon during the school holidays featuring a professional performer and local children appearing alongside with their own acts.
“This will be a great year for getting the Layton back on the map by giving good value for money in these hard times,” says promoter Matthew Davidge. “It’s a great place to enjoy a summer show – everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be a member.
“We will be contacting a lot of the artists who have appeared over the years from the not so well known to the famous such as Paul O’Grady who spent a great deal of time here with his ITV show as Lily Savage, for a big variety 100th year celebration.”
Fun days will run throughout the year with fun fairs and children’s entertainment on the green.
The new summer line-up will be Tuesdays – Britain’s Got Talent act Father and Son, female vocalist Lisa Young; Wednesdays – Black Lace member Dene Michael plus comedian; Thursdays – Craig Harrison’s tribute to Michael Jackson plus illusionist and fire eater Paul Dawson; Fridays – The Layton Showband, vocalist Helen O’Neil and Nicky Flash from Britain’s Got Talent; Saturdays – Comedian Johnnie Casson and vocalist Tim Harding.
The Phil Winston showgirls will be featured every night and the shows will be compered by Aaron Levi from the X Factor.
