A special talent hunt will take place at the weekend, aimed at Blackpool’s sprightly over-50s.
Ian Coleman, who hosts the annual Poppython fund- raising event for the Royal British Legion, has joined forces with the Chase The Stage team to run launch a new talent competition.
Chase The Stage will next weekend be hosting the national finals of TalentFest UK at the Winter Gardens – but on Sunday, Ian (pictured) will launch his new initiative, the Poppython talent contest.
He said: “I met the Chase The Stage team, and they were so impressed with the idea of Poppython that next year they want to run a national talent competition for the over-50s and to use the name for it.
“As a preview, we have organised a talent competition on Sunday at the RBL Club in King Street.
“The Poppython winner will be asked to perform at the TalentFest finals on Sunday, September 28, where they will also receive a certificate and their prize.”
Chase the Stage is a promotional company which runs talent competitions across the UK.
Anyone interested in taking part can sign up for the contest from 12.45pm at the club, with the show starting at 1pm.
