A Blackpool Elvis tribute artist has been hailed the world’s best, at an event marking the anniversary of the rock’n’roll legend’s death.

Chris Connor has been a regular in the Legends show at The Sands Venue on Central Promenade for several years, and returns tonight for the next week of shows.

He has just come home from the annual Elvis Week, at the legend’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, where he was named the first worldwide fans’ choice Best Elvis Performer 2014.

During the visit, Chris performed in front of Joe Esposito – Elvis’s best friend and right-hand man, who found him the day he died – who also presented him with the award.

Joe joined the Manchester-based artist on stage to pay tribute to his act, saying ‘Boy that boy looks just like Elvis’.

Chris will be back on stage at The Sands Venue tonight, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, alongside Legends’ Michael Buble, Meatloaf and Adele.

Doors open 5pm, the show starts between 7pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £18.99, for details call (01253) 625262.
