A galaxy of stars are set to shine in Blackpool veteran impressario Duggie Chapman’s pantomime season.

This year Duggie is at the helm of the festive family favourites in Preston, Bolton and Billingham, with a starring cast of comedy legends and stars of popular TV.

And the old theatrical adage, ‘the show must go on’ has come good in Preston where it had been feared that there would be no pantomime... Oh yes there will!

The city’s Charter Theatre had been put up for sale by the council, but new owner Simon Rigby - from The Villa at Wrea Green, has committed to the venue.

Duggie said: “I am happy to report my company has been invited to stage this year’s pantomime at the Charter Theatre - with Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.”

Duggie has a long history of presenting pantos at the Charter Theatre, dating back to the 1980s and he hopes Blackpool audiences will join him there.

Heading the cast is classic funny man and Lancashire resident Jimmy Cricket as Muddles, with Blackpool’s Kristina Castellina as Snow White and Pete Lindup as dame Sarah the Cook.

The show runs from Tuesday, December 2 to Saturday, January 3,

At Bolton Albert Halls, Duggie is presenting Cinderella, starring Stu Francis as Buttons and Bobby Ball’s son’s the Harper Bros as the Broker’s Men.

The show runs from Saturday, November 29 to Sunday, January 4.

Over in the North East, at Billingham Forum Theatre, Aladdin stars Benidorm actor Jake Canuso as Abanazer.

Also appearing in the Eastern adventure, is Blackpool’s Charlie Cairoli as one of the Chinese policemen comedy duo Ping and Pong from Saturday, December 6 to Sunday, January 4.
