WHAT do you get when you mix chart-topping rock band The Killers, a Hollywood legend and Britain’s most iconic seaside attractions?

Well something ultra cool of course!

The Killers shot a quirky, weird and often chilling promo for their latest single Here With Me at locations around Blackpool – thanks to a twisted storyline by cult director Tim Burton.

The video has now been released on the Internet - and has so far been viewed by over 630,000 people - it showcases The Tower Ballroom, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and the resort’s famous Golden Mile.

The legendary Hollywood director brought movie star Winona Ryder over from America for the video which also features Welsh actor Craig Roberts . It depicts a man who falls for a mannequin, believing her to be real.

He even takes her to Blackpool beach and the Ballroom for a strange seaside waltz.

On his Facebook page, Tim said: “The first time I saw The Killers perform live was in Blackpool shortly after completing work on our first collaboration – the music video for Bones.

“It was a pleasure to work in Blackpool.”

Marketing Blackpool managing director Natalie Wyatt added: “This is a great video for Blackpool which really shows off some of our fantastic attractions.

“There is no mistaking it was recorded in the resort as it shows how magnificent The Tower Ballroom and Blackpool Pleasure Beach are along with a fantastic view of our beach and seafront.

“Blackpool is the most filmed place in the UK outside London and it is wonderful the resort is being promoted world-wide. We look forward to helping with similar opportunities in the future.”

A spokesman for The Tower said: “It was fantastic to see Brandon Flowers and the band perform on the Ballroom stage and Winona Ryder dance on our world famous dance floor.

“Tim Burton is a real fan of Blackpool and we hope to see him at The Tower again in the future.”
