CHART-topper Pixie Lott is looking forward to stepping out on stage tonight as part of the Illuminations Switch-On show.
It will be the second time the pop sensation has joined the Lights’ line-up.
Pixie is part of a bill that includes Scouting For Girls, soul diva Beverley Knight and X Factor finalists Olly Murs and Joe McElderry.
They are set to entertain the crowds in a specially created arena in Central car park ahead of the Switch-On by funnyman Keith Lemon.
Pixie told The Gazette: “I’m really excited. It has been a while since I have been down to Blackpool and last time it was really fun and I really enjoyed myself.
“I had a bit of time so I went down to one of the piers and I had one of those Kiss Me Quick hats on!
“But this time my schedule is very busy because of my new single so it will be a shorter stay.”
That single, All About Tonight, will be released on Sunday and she will be performing it at the show.
She said: “I hope it will go down well with everybody. Usually people sing along with me so it will be interesting to see if they are doing!
“I love the Switch-On show because it will be good to see the other performers again like Olly and it’s always a great atmosphere backstage.
“Everyone is excited about it. It’s lovely to see the Lights being switched on and shining over Blackpool.”
Pixie, who also has her own fashion range and is renowned for her short hemlines, is also busy planning her outfit for the night. She added: “I will try and wear something special, but what it is might depend on the weather!”
Meanwhile, with the star becoming a firm favourite in Blackpool, might she be the next celebrity to feature in the town’s new Madame Tussaud’s?
She said: “That would be so cool! It’s amazing how real the wax figures look.”
