REVIEW: SING-A-LONG GREASE - Grand Theatre, Blackpool

Have your say

Well who would have thought 36 years ago the film Grease would still be so popular and have a capacity audience attending a ‘Singalong’ version at The Grand?

Staged as part of the resort’s Showzam festival, this type of film show involves audience participation, so it is not for the shy or faint-hearted!

Compere Andrea Seale, aka Randy, hand jive instructor and props director, convinced the majority of the audience to wear paper bags on their heads. That was the funniest part of the night!

Most of the audience were in fancy dress, mostly Pink Ladies, although there were also a few male T-Birds, some cheerleaders, an occasional Sandra Dee and a few more raunchy Sandys, obviously all up for a good time.

A mixed audience of children, families, couples and girls on a night out, all obviously enjoyed themselves.

My husband thought the whole experience was surreal while on my other side the girl next to me said it was ‘the best night ever!’

Next time the Singalong’s in town, if you want a ‘feel good night’ with a great laugh too, make sure you go along for the experience.
