Blackpool’s Rae Morris has unveiled the first single from her eagerly-awaited new album, and announced a major UK tour.
Bad news on the tour front though – Rae isn’t playing her hometown, and the nearest two places she’s stopping at are Sheffield and Liverpool.
The 21-year-old is at the Leadmill on Sheffield on April 28, and plays Liverpool Sound City on May 2.
Morris, who went to St George’s School in Marton, and started off playing gigs at local venues like West Coast Rock Cafe, signed for Atlantic Records two years ago, and releases her debut album later in the year (the exact date is yet to be finalised).
But there’s quite a buzz building around her, with the first tune from her album, Skin, going down a storm when it was posted on Youtube earlier in the year.
Follow up Do You Even Know? is now also on Youtube, and will officially be released on May 6, the first single from the album.
Asked what the track is about, Rae said: “It is about that very familiar and human feeling of solitude, the realisation that nobody really knows you and what you stand for apart from you.”
Radio One has thrown itself behind Morris, and was the first station to play her new single.
