A FESTIVAL which brought thousands to Lytham Green is in the running for a top award.

Lytham Proms – run by Cuffe and Taylor – has been nominated for best small festival at the UK Festival Awards.

This year’s event – the second time the Proms have been held over three nights in August – saw the festival’s first sell-out crowd for Fleetwood opera star Alfie Boe and thousands pack the green for Here and Now –the 1980s tour – and popstar Olly Murs.

Peter Taylor, director of the St Annes-based firm, said: “We are thrilled to be nominated for the award.

“It really is a great achievement and we are incredibly proud Lytham Proms Festival Weekend is again being recognised.

“We really hope everyone gets behind us and votes for Lytham Proms.”

Russell Watson has already been confirmed to headline the 2013 festival on the Saturday night, and everyone who votes in the awards by October 31 will be entered into a prize-draw for two VIP tickets to meet and greet all three headliners.
