IRISH chart topping jazz, blues and rockabilly singer Imelda May (pictured left) is to make her Blackpool debut with a headline appearance at the Opera House on Sunday, November 20.

Born in Dublin, May began her professional career in 2003, forming a band and releasing No Turning Back under her maiden name Imelda Clabby.
Specializing then in rockabilly music, the album was later re-recorded and re-issued by Foot Tapping Records under her current name in 2005.
In 2007 her second album which reached number one in Ireland and caught the attention of Jools Holland, whom she later supported on tour.
This led him to ask her to appear on his well-known music show Later... with Jools Holland.
She won Female Artist of the Year at the 2009 Meteor Awards and toured the United States with Jamie Cullum.
Her third studio album, Mayhem, was released last September, again reaching number one in the Irish album charts and repeated that success in the United Kingdom in October.
