TWO star-makers are giving youngsters a chance to shine as part of their first anniversary celebrations.

Starmaker Performing Arts Academy was set up last year by Liz Hames and Natasha Kellett.

And to mark their first anniversary they are holding open scholarship auditions.

The successful student will be awarded a full year at the Poulton based academy worth £500.

Managing director Liz Hames said: “This year the scholarship auditions will be bigger and better with a live grand final at Thornton Little Theatre.

“And there will be a panel of judges who will choose the winners on the night.”

Inspired Energy PLC will be sponsoring the most deserving child and managing director Janet Thornton will be on the panel of judges.

Liz added: “Here at Starmaker we feel excited local businesses are willing to offer help to talented, deserving children that might not be able to afford fees.

“They can make a really positive contribution to a young persons life.”

First round auditions are on Saturday March 24 at Hodgson Academy from 1pm to 3pm.

All those who are wanting to be in with a chance of winning the scholarship need to prepare a two minute performance.

The best 10 acts will go through to the final – Starmaker’s Got Talent which will be held on Thursday April 12.
