The full cast for the new tour of musical Chicago – starring Blackpool’s Hayley Tamaddon – has been announced.
Hayley was revealed to be appearing in the national tour in November, alongside former EastEnders actor and West End star John Partridge, who’s currently on screens in Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5, and past X Factor winner Sam Bailey, as Roxie Hart, Billy Flynn and Mama Morton respectively.
Rehearsals started last week and now the full cast list has been revealed.
Joining Hayley, John and Sam will be Sophie Carmen-Jones as Velma Kelly, Neil Ditt as Amos Hart and AD Richardson as Mary Sunshine.
Hayley tweeted of the week’s rehearsals: “Day three of @ChicagoOnStage rehearsals: I still ache. My vocal chords are crying. But I’m loving every single minute!”
The tour opens in Oxford on Friday, February 12 and comes to the North West at Manchester Opera House on Monday, March 21.
Based on real-life events back in the roaring 1920s, nightclub singer Roxie Hart shoots her lover and along with cell block rival, double-murderess Velma Kelly, they fight to keep from death row with the help of smooth talking lawyer, Billy Flynn.
The Broadway production of Chicago is the longest running musical revival and also the second longest running musical in Broadway history.
