COCO and Crystal Nightclub are launching Hooked, a new weekly Friday and Saturday night.

The idea of the new brand has been created following the success of Crystal’s ‘Urban Uncut’ featuring Blackpool’s hottest talent, DJ Jay Fontalba.

Crystal has created massive weekly hype and been able to boast about a packed nightclub - and now the same formula has been copied for CoCo Nightclub.

DJ Elliott Smith, who has gained experience through Blackpool’s hugely successful Randy Ron nights, will turn his hand to entertaining the crowds at CoCo every Friday and Saturday.

Elliott is a 20-year-old with a wealth of experience holding residencies at some of the best clubs in the North West – The Syndicate Superclub, Baluga in Preston and The Circle Club Manchester.

He will play funky vocal disco house with a twist.

“For a year now we have worked extremely hard at improving our relationship with the local customers and giving them back exactly what they want,” said Dom McGurrin, CoCo and Crystal General Manager.

“This is the next chapter that will put CoCo as Nightclub back on the map.”

The venue has had a refurbishment, including a brand new sound and lighting set-up and new additions of staging throughout the venue.

This will go down a treat on the Launch night as Free Fly Breakdancing Crew are taking over the podiums. Alongside the dancers there will be fire eaters and stilt walkers.

‘It’s a very exciting time for the venue and great to see all the hard work that has been put in from the management and all the staff,” said promoter Alex Huckerby.

“Nine months ago we opened an empty room and turned it into the most hyped room in Blackpool.

“The locals now know that week in week out Crystal will be a busy night with a great atmosphere.

“The music and performance from DJ Jay Fontalba has made this a very special place to party.

“It is great to think that Elliott Smith is taking over CoCo and changing its music policy from ‘R&B to House’ and giving another room a complete new identity.

“Elliott is a DJ who I have worked with for over three years and I am sure that he will entertain the crowds.”
