Get ready to rock as The Blue Big Orchestra hit the road with a string of exciting Fylde coast dates.
And the hard working five-piece are preparing to give us a hint of what goes on in their world with the release of a brand new CD featuring exclusive self-penned material.
The band initially made their name by performing cover-versions, in which they would take on songs that other bands wouldn’t dare, and still manage to create their own Blue Pig sound.
With more than 350 gigs under their belts there’s no shortage of experience and over the years the group have turned to producing their own unique material.
The first recording, Witches, was released in 2011.
Now they’re about to unleash From The Storm, with a special launch night at The Plough in Staining on July 4.
The release will showcase the progression the band has made and highlight their multi instrumental talents. Songs featured include ‘Santa Ana’, about a Spanish ship wrecked off the Fylde Coast during the English Civil War, featuring Richard Curran on fiddle, and ‘Kilgrimol’, a local legend of a sunken church.
With the release of From the Storm, the band now think the time is right to reach an even wider audience. With several successful festival appearances under their belt and more to look forward to, the band goes from strength to strength and looks forward to bigger stages in the near future.
See for yourself what makes The Blue Pig Orchestra one of the Fylde coast’s most talked about bands.
