Teenage heartthrobs past and present are leading the cast of the sixth and final arena tour of Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War Of The Worlds.
Coming to Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Friday, November 28 and the Manchester Arena on Sunday, November 30, the show stars Jason Donovan, Westlife’s Brian McFadden, X Factor 2005 winner Shane Ward (pictured right) and X Factor 2012 and 2013 contestant Joseph Whelan.
Also appearing is Les Miserables’ Carrie Hope Fletcher and - in 3D holography - Liam Neeson, all accompanied by the 36-piece ULLAdubULLA Strings and the 9-piece Black Smoke Band.
And in a new stunt for this year’s tour, author HG Wells will appear, a three different ages, played by Scottish actor Callum O’Neill, who is best known for his role as ‘Wee Dingwall’ in Disney Pixar’s 2012 Summer Blockbuster Brave.
Besides the human stars, the show features special effects; a three tonne 35-foot tall Martian Fighting Machine firing real flames into the arena, a 100-foot wide ‘animation wall’ with two hours of cutting edge CGI, the incineration of a cast member in front of the audience’s eyes, a ground-breaking levitation effect and much more.
Tickets are on sale now via www.thewaroftheworlds.com/tickets or at www.live nation.co.uk priced from £38.50.
