If North Pier’s latest show was a stick of rock, it would definitely have Blackpool running through the middle of it.
The new song and dance show has been engineered with Blackpool in mind, not only premiering in the resort tomorrow night but also created for the holiday town and holding auditions here for cast members.
The all-singing, all-dancing show features hits from two of the most loved decades of pop – the 70s and 80s.
It opens its three-night run tomorrow, Friday July 4, and opens again on July 5 and July 11.
Its cast of eight singers and dancers, many of them fresh from West End shows and touring musicals, perform everything from Smooth Criminal, What’s Love Got To Do With It, What A Feeling and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough to I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Stayin’ Alive, Footloose, Total Eclipse Of The Heart, Dancing Queen and I Will Survive.
Parker and Snell Company, the team behind the production, have previously presented other “smash hit” shows including Glee – Live on Stage and The Vagina Monologues.
They have also worked with actors and performers including Jonas Armstrong – TV’s Robin Hood – Lisa Riley, Jenna Coleman and Kym Marsh.
Tickets for Smash Hits of the 70s & 80s are £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and children and a family of four ticket is £40.
