North Fylde Music Circle starts its new season tomorrow at 7.30pm in the new theatre/concert hall of Blackpool Sixth Form College.
The recital welcomes back John Gough, who has played several times for the North Fylde Music Circle, Fylde Arts and Blackpool Symphony Orchestra.
He will be playing a selection of well known and less well known piano duets with Tom Kimmance.
John Gough enjoys a busy performing career combining it with teaching at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester University and Chetham’s School of Music.
Concerts have taken him to Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and the Bridgewater Hall and in addition he has given many BBC broadcasts on Radio 2, 3 and Classic FM.
Tom Kimmance was born on Merseyside and began playing the piano at the relatively late age of 13. He is a graduate of Liverpool University gaining the highest mark recorded for his final recital. He also holds a first class honours masters degree and now is a tutor in piano at the university. He has given many recitals and concerto performances in the north west and is also an active composer. He gave the premiere performance of his Concerto Romantique in 2010.
Tomorrow’s recital includes music by Mozart, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Dvorak, Ravel, Chabrier and Edward German.
