Blackpool’s alternative music club, Misery of Sound, is back in action at a new venue and a new night – tonight.
Having established itself as a Friday night session in the former rock venue, the West Coast Club Above, it has now moved to the resort’s latest rock headquarters – the Music Hall Tavern on Church Street.
Tonight’s special edition of MOS sees Los Angeles “horror pyscho rock ‘n’ rollers” Rezurex return to the Fylde coast after an almost 18 month absence. Support comes from the coast’s own horror rockers, The Boneyard Zombies.
Rezurex brings back the roots of early 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll and combines them with influences by the likes of The Stray Cats, The Damned, Billy Idol, The Misfits, Elvis Presley, and The Cramps.
Frontman Daniel De Leon has also has begun an acting career in television and independent films such as Day of the Dead 2.
Support on the night comes from Blackpool based ghouls The Boneyard Zombies who burst onto the scene in February with debut a performance at the first MOS show of the year. The band features members and ex-members of Kiss Of The Gypsy, UFX and One Way System.
They have been booked to play at Blackpool’s Rebellion Festival in August, and will be releasing their debut album very soon.
DJ Grimly Fiendish will be on hand spinning music between the bands and Ratty and Vince from the Vince Ripper And The Rodent show will also behind the decks for a special Boneyard DJ set.
The event in on from 8pm until midnight. Admission is £3 on the door, 18+
