BLACKPOOL is to be transformed into Disneyland for the August bank holiday weekend.
The Opera House has secured ‘Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show’, which it’s hoped will be a huge smash hit with families.
The show runs from Thursday August 22 to Sunday 25 and promises audiences a high-energy, fun-packed adventure led by Mickey Mouse and featuring a host of much loved Disney friends including Goofy, Minnie, Tigger, Cinderella and her conniving stepsisters, and Buzz Lightyear and Woody.
“Bringing a Disney production into Blackpool for the Bank Holiday weekend is a great boost for the town and the venue,” said Donna Molyneux, entertainment contracts manager at the Winter Gardens. “It is a fantastic show and will be very popular with residents and visitors.”
The show will be directed by Kenneth Feld. “Audiences will feel like they’re seeing a cartoon come to life,” he said.
“They will experience the humour, high-jinks, twists and turns of Mickey’s road trip and talent show. The only rules are ‘cartoon rules,’ which means anything goes.”
Tickets are now on sale, priced £15-£30, at www.blackpoollive.com or 0844 8561111.
