Blackpool Keyboard Club plays host to Michelle French tonight at Bispham United Reformed Church, Cavendish Road, Bispham.
Making her debut at the club Michelle says: “I am so pleased to be back on the circuit having disappeared for a while to spend time bringing up my son and to pursue other musical interests.”
That included composing the music for Jane, a new musical which was successfully showcased at the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove.
“I love composing and have since composed a number of light classical piano pieces that I will be playing in Blackpool,” she said.
Having played the piano all of her life, her experience has included backing cabaret acts from the age of 14, performing in hotels around the country, working as part of her own dance band, examining on behalf of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and teaching.
“Most recently I have been developing my own cabaret/comedy act, where I basically write and perform my own material in a sort of Victoria Wood style),” she said.
Tonight’s programme, which starts at 7.30pm will include light classics, jazz, show music, swing, latin, pop and a little sing-a-long thrown in for good measure.”
