Michael and Messiah make strange bedfellows

Have your say

Only on the Fylde coast are you ever likely to find Handel following Dirty Diana and Billie Jean.

That’s because the eclectic mix of all things artistic swings into action at Rossall School in Fleetwood from Monday when the establishment’s Art’s Week celebrates its eighth anniversary with a packed programme of visual and performance art.

Many of the events on the week-long programme are open to the public, including the School’s Combined Cadet Force Band, playing hit music from film and TV in the Museum Theatre at 6.30pm on Monday and Music @Twilight performed by the School’s Chamber Choir and Beecham Singers in Rossall’s Museum Theatre at 8pm on Tuesday.

Highlights of the programme are the strange bedfellows of a Michael Jackson Tribute Night on Saturday March 31 (a charity event in Rossall’s Big School) and the Sunday April 1 finale performance of Handel’s Messiah, with Rossall Choral Society, together with the School’s Old Rossallian and Chapel choirs.
