The newly married Sir Paul McCartney has announced a home town Liverpool concert and a Manchester visit amongst 11 special On The Run shows across three different continents to end the year.
Tickets for the Monday December 19 Manchester Evening News Arena (0844 847 8000) and Tuesday December 20 Liverpool Echo Arena (0844 8000 400) shows go on sale at 9am on Thursday.
July saw Sir Paul voted the Best Live Act of the last year at the prestigious UK Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards. It was a public vote and he beat acts from a shortlist of 30 including Muse, Green Day, Jay Z, Pink and Black Eyed Peas.
In the same month, he and his band of nearly ten years embarked on the first leg of their all new On The Run tour with dates across North America and Canada.
The new tour starts out with his first ever show the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the tour will then rock n’ roll into Europe and Russia.
The Liverpool concert is exactly a year to the day since he played a intimate show at Liverpool’s O2 Academy late last year, which ended with Sir Paul handing out hot drinks to fans waiting outside the venue in freezing weather conditions.
“Playing live is one of the most exciting parts of my job,” he said.
“I’m really looking forward to the next run of shows and to playing places that I have never played before with my band.
My audiences seem to get better each year and the band and I love the buzz and feedback that they give us.”
