CELEBRITY chef Michel Roux dropped in at The Great Hall at Mains in Poulton as part of his latest TV show.
The four-week series Michel Roux’s Service, which started on Wednesday January 12, follows Michel on a personal mission to train eight inexperienced, young people to become front-of-house superstars.
In order to learn the skills needed to win a scholarship in one of Europe’s best restaurants, a BBC crew filmed the novices in various upmarket restaurants and venues around the country.
In the third of the eight-part series, the wannabes were required to serve at this prestigious wedding venue and follow The Great Hall’s team and outside caterers Heathcotes Outside at a reception and three-course wedding breakfast for more than 100 guests for Thornton couple Clare and Paul Clark.
The magnificent timber framed Great Hall provided the perfect backdrop for the programme, as the young hopefuls learnt what is required in terms of excellent service on the most important day of a couple’s lives.
The programme was aired on Wednesday.
