Look out behind you – it’s all change for Fleetwood Marine Hall’s pantomime.
Out goes the full run of Duo Pantomime Productions with Jack and the Beanstalk from December 14 to 30 and in its place comes three days of Aladdin from December 14 to 16.
Children’s television favourite Postman Pat was to have starred in the original pantomime, details of which vanished from the Wyre Council website earlier this week.
A spokesman for the Marine Hall said today that the run of Jack and the Beanstalk had been cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances” - believed to be a euphemism for a lack of ticket sales.
The three day touring panto stars Grace Adams Short, known for her appearance in Big Brother and Cirque De Celebrite, in the title role.
She will be joined by Laura Handley, best known for her role as Candy Browne in the hit Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, who will play the mystical Scheherazade. Joining the cast is Liverpool’s Tom Hogan in his first professional pantomime playing Widow Twankey.
Presented by Trio Entertainment Limited, producer Kevin Brown, said: “The show will have all the elements of a great traditional panto with lots of singing, dancing and comedy by the bucket-load. We have spectacular costumes and scenery and of course a magical genie and flying carpet.” Performances will be at 1 and 7pm on December 14, 2 and 7pm on December 15 and 1pm on December 16.. Tickets are on sale now at £8 each or £7 for schools and group bookings. Available online at www.marinehall.co.uk or via the box office on (01253) 887693.
