Steering the ship that is the award-winning Legends show in Blackpool is clearly not enough for its multi-talented co-director Richard Chance.
In between writing and directing the high-energy production, which is enjoying its 14th Blackpool summer season at Central Pier, Richard’s multi-strung bow has become even stronger.
At 9pm tonight on ITV1, his original music is featured in the documentary The Circus – and he has other TV shows in the broadcasting pipeline.
“It’s my dream job and I didn’t realise it until I was doing it,” said Richard who plays keyboards, guitar, and drums, as well as editing all the video and music for Blackpool’s favourite show.
“I was writing for an ITV Jennifer Saunders show while rehearsing the 2012 Legends production, and I think one acts as therapy for the other – although my long suffering girl friend might disagree.”.
His ‘other half’, Leanne Fury, is also a singer in Legends, and Richard is the first to admit she is a great source of support and creative help to him.
“Even when I’m on holiday, within three days I am usually writing on an iPad while sitting in the sun,” he said.
