BLACKPOOL producer and promoter Duggie Chapman has been keeping audiences entertained for the last 15 years with his show We’ll Meet Again.
You can probably guess what it’s about from the Vera Lynn-inspired title: war-time entertainment guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The show is at the Lowther Pavilion at 2pm tomorrow.
Comedy star Adam Daye from TV’s Who Do You Do recalls the comedy radio stars of the period, while international singing star Marilyn Hill Smith (from the BBC’s Friday Night Is Music Night) brings back the memorable songs of Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields and the music of Ivor Novello. Tony Leyton performs the songs of Bing Crosby, and Andy Eastwood gets out his ukulele as George Formby.
Host Mervyn Francis, famous from his appearances with the Black and White Minstrel Show, completes a high quality cast.
It is in the midst of a nationwide tour, which started in Scotland earlier in the month and lasts until June, taking in 65 venues en route. Tickets, priced £12.50 (£10 concession), from (01253) 794221.
