Friday’s autumn series launch of Fylde Arts midday recitals at Poulton Methodist Church is being given by the Stonebridge String Quartet.
Julian Cann (violin) studied at London University where his violin tutor was Linda McLaren. He subsequently studied under Martin Milner, Reginald Stead, Raphael Wallfisch and the Alberni Quartet.
He leads the Stonebridge and Castalia Quartets, the Pennine Piano Trio, the Haffner Orchestra and other ensembles. He also plays with the Pictish Players Scottish Country Dance Band.
Jane Cull (violin) studied at the Royal College of Music Junior Department but went on to study engineering at Cambridge University where she also led the University Orchestra.
Allison Calderbank (viola) is principal viola of the Haffner Orchestra and has played with many other leading orchestras.
Jeremy Lamburn (cello) studied with Emma Ferrand at the Royal Northern College of Music, and since graduation has played with the Northern Chamber Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He also works as a soloist and is a member of various chamber ensembles.
Friday’s recital begins at 1pm. Admission is £7 (£5 for Fylde Arts members).
