The Pleasure Beach Hot Ice Show has been confirmed for a 2012 summer season.
Last year’s production of the ice skating spectacular broke records and the 2011 run matched those box office bookings, a Pleasure Beach spokesman said.
Hot Ice showcases ice skating talent from across the world and the 201 production saw a total of 30 performers, with some travelling from as far as Argentina and Australia to take part in the hit show.
Work has already started on next year’s show with the in-house Stageworks wardrobe department working on a variety of new costume designs featuring thousands of sequins and feathers.
Commenting on the show, Hot Ice producer and director Amanda Thompson said “The Hot Ice Show has become a much loved part of the Blackpool entertainment line up. The show is filled with glamour, glitz and is such fun to watch. The cast and crew did an amazing job this year and the feedback from audiences has been incredible.”
The Pleasure Beach Arena has been hosting Ice Shows since 1936 and it is the world’s oldest purpose built ice theatre.
Hot Ice opens on Wednesday July 4 and will run until Saturday September 8. Tickets are on sale with prices starting from £5 for matinee performances and £10 for the full evening show. Call (0871) 222 9090 or visit www.hoticeshow.com
