MUSIC fans will be hip hopping their way down Blackpool North Pier next month for an up close and personal concert by Tinchy Stryder and Ironik.

Both performers are lined up for North Pier Theatre on Saturday March 24.

Tinchy Stryder, who had to drop out from switching on Blackpool’s Christmas lights after being laid low with laryngitis, has taken the UK by storm and established himself as one of the country’s leading grime stars recording collaborations with a number of artists and groups including Ruff Squad, Wiley, Lady Sovereign and N-Dubz.

In 2007 Tinchy released his debut solo album Star In The Hood, along with two singles Breakaway and Something To Smile About.

He has since released a further two albums to great acclaim, five EPs and a number of hit singles.

March sees the release of a new album, Full Tank, and the single Bright Lights (Good Life) single with vocals by Pixie Lott.

Ironik is a rising star in the UK’s urban music and hip-hop world.

A DJ from the age of 13, he performed at his uncle’s parties and was asked to support So Solid Crew on their UK tour.

By the age of 16 Ironik was producing for numerous artists.

Voted the number one unsigned artist on MySpace for three consecutive months, he was signed up by the Asylum label aged 20. Influenced by Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, his first single So Nice was released in 2007.

However it was his next single Stay With Me that became his breakthrough hit, charting at number five in the UK charts. He has since released a further five singles and two albums collaborating with such giants in the music world as Sir Elton John and Wiley.

Joining Tinchy and Ironik will be special guests.

Details will be announced soon.

Tickets for the pair’s up close and personal show at Blackpool North Pier Theatre on Saturday March 24 at 8pm are available from tomorrow priced £27.50 from the North Pier Box Office (situated at the front of the pier next to the Merrie England Bar) at 10.30am and online or by telephone from next Monday, February 20.
