There will be dancing on the streets – or at least on West Beach in Lytham – when the American Four Tops Show returns to the Lowther Pavilion next Sunday.
Fronted by William Hicks the American Four Tops Show (pictured right) is a two hour production backed with a live band celebrating all the magic of Motown’s glory days.
He formed Soul Satisfaction and his The American Four Tops Show in 1990 and has been going strong ever since.
From Atlanta, Georgia, he has become one of the most prominent ambassadors internationally of the Motown sound in the last two decades taking his show across the globe from its roots in Atlanta to Europe and Asia.
His genius has created several outstanding productions such as The Soul Satisfaction Motown Show, The American Four Tops Show, The American Soul Legends Show, and The Divas of Motown Show.
His lead vocals have has been compared to that of original Four Tops frontman Levi Stubbs and in addition to arranging the vocal harmony structures for the group, he also choreographs the high stepping impressive dance routines, keeping things pure Motown.
His personal resumé included being the support act for the likes of Jennifer Holiday and Gladys Knight at the Atlanta Stadium and the original Four Tops and Temptations, at Chastain Park in Atlanta.
Although the line-up of The American Four Tops Show has changed over the years, William Hicks always promises the same high quality outstanding show, always providing a quartet, who under his direction keeps the music of the legendary Four Tops alive.
The show features all the Four Tops hits such as Reach Out, Baby I Need Your Loving, I Can’t Help Myself, Standing In The Shadow of Love, Bernadette, Walk Away Renee, Loco In Acapulco and plenty more from that era, including songs of The Temptations, The Drifters, The Miracles, The Platters, Smokey Robinson, Ben E King.
