A former Blackpool Grand Theatre marketing manager and founder of the award winning Supernatural Events is about to have his first book published.
Stephen Mercer’s Haunted Blackpool goes behind the fun side of the resort to look at the town darker side.
From Blackpool Tower and the North Pier to the Saddle Inn on Whitegate Drive and the Opera House, Blackpool has supernatural stories that will send a chill down the spine of tourists and residents alike.
It’s a collection of true-life tales designed to make your blood run cold, looking at stories of phantoms on the promenade, spooky shades in the sand, the lady who walks the pier and the siblings who play in the fountain.
Stephen draws on historical and contemporary sources, containing many tales which have never before been published.
The book has a foreword written by star of Living TV’s Living With the Dead, Ian Lawman, and is illustrated with 70 black and white images of Blackpool’s most haunted locations.
Stephen, who now helps market Blackpool North Pier, is also a paranormal investigator who owns Supernatural Events, a company hosting ghost walks, tours and investigations throughout Blackpool. He has worked alongside well-known mediums and paranormal investigators including Derek Acorah, Ian Lawman and Richard Felix.
Haunted Blackpool is published by The History Press, The Mill, Brinscombe Port, Stroud, Glos GL5 2QG (www.thehistorypress.co.uk)) at £9.99.
