BIG Brother star Grace Adams-Short has swapped reality TV for a stay at the seaside.

Becoming a bit of a household name after appearing on the hit show in 2006, Adams-Short has been a regular on our screens ever since.

And now she is having a bash at panto - taking the lead role in a brand new production of The Wizard Of Oz, the big Easter production in Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre.

Adams-Short plays the ultimate villainess - the Wicked Witch of The West - and with rising comedy star Jolly Goode as Scarecrow, North Pier bosses are confident this panto-musical, which is suitable for all ages and boasts a full supporting cast and dancers, will be a hit.

“We are very excited about our Easter presentation this year,” said North Pier Theatre director, Renee Sedgwick.

“The Wizard of Oz is a firm family favourite; a story that people of all ages know and love and we can’t wait to transform the North Pier Theatre into the magical Land of Oz. It’s going to be amazing and very magical. We hope that both residents of the Fylde Coast and visitors to the town will come and join in the family fun.”

For those living in a cave for the last umpteen years, the story involves Dorothy’s journey to the Emerald City where the great Wizard of Oz lives. On their way they meet a Scarecrow who wants a brain, a Tin Man who desires a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wishes he had courage.

Will the wonderful Wizard of Oz be able to help them before the Wicked Witch captures Dorothy and her friends?

This will be the first visit to North Pier Theatre for prolific pantomime producers Trio Entertainment, who are promising “a new version of the family favourite, which will include lavish scenery, beautiful costumes, loads of songs for everyone and laughs by the bucket-load.”

Star of the show Adams-Short earned rave reviews when she toured the UK in the hit stage show Doctor in the House. She has also appeared in shows like 8 Out Of 10 Cats and The Friday Night Project.

The Wizard of Oz is at Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre on Saturday 30 and Sunday March 31; Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 April; and Wednesday 10 to Saturday 13 April. All performances start at 2pm.
