Nellie Deans on North Promenade is hosting a 65th birthday bash tonight for pint sized entertainer Frankie Whittle.
Venue operator Stephen Pierre said: “I first met Frankie about 25 years ago when he was the entertainments manager at the Metropole Hotel though he is perhaps best known for his many years performing at the former the Music Hall Tavern on Talbot Road and Church Street.
“He is still going strong performing every year in pantomime and is a regular Rovers Return background character on Coronation Street. Frankie is from the vanishing world of variety entertainment which has changed so much over the past decade or so.”
The party is open to all.
