The day started with the procession of floats though the village to St John’s Church for the crowning of this year’s Coffee Feast Queen, Matilda ‘Tilly’ Davies by Mrs Tate, the retiring headteacher from Pilling St John’s C E School.

Jigsaw Playgroup won the best decorated float and St John’s School won the new Moon Trust trophy for the float decorated with children’s work.

Preesall won the visiting Queen’s float – the floats were judged by Lancaster and Fleetwood MP Cat Smith.

After the presentations, the procession of floats and classic cars continued through the rest of the village and back to the church hall where everyone enjoyed a fantastic feast followed by games and entertainment on the field.
