Fylde coast Food and Drink Festival looks likely to put paid to all the traditional summer-time dieting.

With chefs and cooks ready to make up pies and paella, chutneys and cheeses and gallons of drinks too, it’s set to be a food and drink lovers’ paradise.

The Marine Hall at Fleetwood will play host to a wealth of exhibitors on August 17, visiting from across Lancashire.

The event gives talented local chefs and food producers will be celebrating the region’s thriving culinary scene.

As they did last year, the team from Twelve Restaurant and Lounge Bar, in Thornton, will be showing off their skills with three cooking demonstrations, of a starter, main and dessert.

Paul Moss, chef patron at Twelve, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Marine Hall for this year’s Food Festival and will once again be demonstrating the best of local Lancashire produce.

“This year we will be up on the main stage and there will be one chef demonstrating and one compering so there will be plenty of opportunity for the audience to get involved with questions and answers.”

Food will be on sale on the day as well as producers touting food and drink to take home.

And there’s things lined up for children too, with arts and crafts activities, cupcake decorating and rides to enjoy.

The event is to be held from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, August 17, at the Esplanade venue, including in the main ballroom and outside along the colonnade.

Entry is free, as is parking.
