Have your say

There’s rare chance tonight at The Dukes in Lancaster to meet a former Cleveleys-based photographer who captured the Madchester rock scene (pictured) and took acclaimed pictures of Nirvana.

Ian Tilton is appearing at the latest Wired In event at the Lancaster venue, and will discuss his life as a freelance photographer and show many unseen photographs of Nirvana as well as images from Manchester’s famous Hacienda club.

A picture of Kurt Cobain taken by Ian was voted one of the best rock images of all time by Q magazine and is part of a stunning collection of portrait photographs taken from the late 80s and early 90s which include The Stone Roses, The Smiths and Guns N Roses.

During a question and answer session in The Dukes Gallery, there will be a chance to discover more about this photographer’s fascinating career.

Ian is an old friend of Lancaster photographer Richard Davis who runs Wired In every two months at The Dukes.

Videos shot by Richard will also be screened accompanied by live music from Morecambe band Liar Liar. Other musicians on the night will be Turnstone, Rachel Parsons, Joanna Mangona and Mia Wilson. Wired In is free though donations are gratefully received.
