Joined by The Imposters – keyboardist Steve Nieve, drummer Pete Thomas and bassist Davey Faragher – The Spectacular Spinning Songbook spun an acclaimed run of shows this year, selling out the Royal Albert Hall with critics unanimous in their praise.

The Spectacular Spinning Songbook was first seen in 1986 as part of the Costello Sings Again tour.

Since its return in the spring of 2011, the show has played to great acclaim from Reno, Nevada to Amsterdam, taking in 10 shows in New York City, New Jersey and Long Island, including three nights at the Beacon Theatre and one at the United Palace, Washington Heights.

The Revolver Tour has visited Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia and Boston, making two visits to the Bay Area and played a return engagement at the Wiltern Theatre, Los Angeles, following the two shows in April 2011, which were recorded for the recently released DVD and CD releases, The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook.

2012 has seen the show visit cities from Vancouver to Jacksonville, Florida before a triumphant return to the UK and Ireland, culminating with two acclaimed nights at the Royal Albert Hall.

Elvis Costello and The Imposters then made their first appearance in Paris for over 10 years at L’Olympia Theatre before travelling to Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The 2013 tour sees two more shows at both the Royal Albert Hall and at Birmingham Symphony Hall, and return engagements in Liverpool, Manchester, Brighton and Bristol as well as debuts including Blackpool, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Gateshead and Southend.
