Come Dancing stars Darren Bennet and Lilia Kopylova are heading to Blackpool direct from their sell out Latin Fever tour.

As part of Fever Dance Comopany’s Strictly season, Darren and Lilia will be performing in Blackpool Tower Ballroom on May 14 accompanied by the Fever Latin American Formation Team’s and big band sounds from the Mike James Orchestra & Singers.

No longer held back by their celebrity partners, this show is an opportunity to see just why they are the professionals.

Darren and Lilia danced last season’s Strictly show and are currently part of the production and advisory committee for Yok Boyle Dans, the Turkish version of Strictly Come Dancing. Darren Bennett started dancing at the age of six with classes at his parents’ dance studio and quickly rose through the ranks of juvenile, junior and youth representing Great Britain at world and European championships world wide.

Lilia Kopylova stared dancing at four, firstly as an ice dancer competing throughout Russia (then USSR) becoming Moscow state champion.

Later after discovering ballroom and Latin American dancing at the age of nine. She competed at all levels becoming Russian champion at all levels.

In July 1997 Darren and Lilia were introduced to each other. As competitive dancers they had competed against each other in major championships throughout the world at junior and youth level but they didn’t

In 2004 they made the final of the World Championships and became members of the British Team, the same year being invited to take part in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Having been unavailable for the first series they took up the offer and never looked back.

At his first attempt Darren dancing together with Jill Halfpenny from Eastenders won the show and then went on to win the Champion of Champions dance off.

A year later Lilia waltzed off with the title while partnering cricketing star Darren Gough, after which they also went on to win the International Chrismas special.
