You could soon be seeing your neighbours and pals appearing on TV – or even yourself.

A Fylde coast performing arts academy has joined forces with a casting and modelling agency to give training and career opportunities to budding stars.

Starmaker Performing Arts Academy is working with Little Allstars Ltd, in Manchester, to offer casting opportunities for adverts, TV programmes and films.

The academy set up the partnership in October 2013, seeing its students land roles in London and Manchester for jobs including Coronation Street and commercials for blue-chip companies such as Cadbury’s and Delta Airlines.

Now it is extending the opportunity to more children and adults, with open audtions to be held on Sunday, March 23, between 10am and 1pm at Wendy Holland Fitness Studios in Thornton.

Liz Hames, managing director of Starmaker, pictured right, said: “This means that, along with all the different training opportunities in street dance, singing and acting we have previously offered, we now have the means to help develop the careers of the students even further in TV, film and modelling.

“You do not need to be a polished product, we’re looking for talent that can be nurtured, and are offering a weekly class in acting for the camera, audition technique and script work.”

Starmaker runs classes in acting, singing and dancing at Hodgson Academy, Poulton, and Millfield Performing Arts College, Thornton,
