British Blues Awards Guitarist of The Year Matt Schofield headlines the opening night of the annual Fleetwoodstock Music Festival tonight as part of his latest UK tour.

Now in its seventh year and celebrating Fleetwood’s 175th anniversary, Fleetwoodstock charity music festival welcomes the guitarist and his band Matt Schofield Trio for the first time as part of the three-day event at The Marine Hall.

Tonight is Blues Night, with the Matt Schofield Trio supported by Snakewater, The Shakers Blues Band and Glyn Bailey.

Tickets are £12 in advance/£13 on the door. Doors open 6.30pm.

Saturday is Rock Night featuring the only UK appearance in 2011 of British melodic rock band Ten, supported by This Uneven Sky, Counterparts, Escape Artist and Italian rock band Santi.

Sunday is local bands day with performers playing throughout the afternoon and evening, headlined by local favourites The Jeps.

Doors open 12.30pm. Tickets are £5. A full weekend ticket is £20.

All the organisers of Fleetwoodstock are volunteers, and all the local bands and performers give their services free. There will be a raffle with several prizes including a guitar donated by the Adam Black Guitar Company.

All profits from Fleetwoodstock go to local charities.
