All 10 screens at Blackpool ODEON will become digital from Friday May 13, including eight 3D screens, making it a fully digital cinema.

The installation comes as part of a national roll out which will see all 875 screens in ODEON’s 110 cinemas across the UK and Ireland upgrading to the revolutionary digital technology by the end of 2012.

The arrival of ODEON Digital 8000 HD means cinemagoers can now enjoy crystal-clear images and spectacular sound every time, ensuring even the most popular films look and sound of the same quality as they did on the first screening, for every screening to come.

What’s more, with the capacity to store 8000 films at any one time; the introduction of the new digital system will provide local film fanatics with a wide and varied choice of the best films.

In addition, the brand new digital system brings an extensive range of exciting alternative content to Blackpool, offering guests a wide range of screenings to enjoy; from live theatre and opera to music and sporting events.

Colin Alexander (pictured left), Blackpool ODEON general manager said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer local film fans an enhanced cinema experience with the introduction of Digital 8000 HD.

“With a fantastic array of films and alternative content on the horizon we’re looking forward to providing cinemagoers across Blackpool and the Fylde with a huge variety of screenings in the highest quality possible.”
